15 Years of Public Health Emergency Preparedness



After the 9/11 and anthrax attacks, Congress gave CDC funding to create the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program. Since then, CDC has been working with state and local health departments to help build a public health emergency management system capable of responding to public health threats.
